We love the 1935 Ford roadster dubbed Cool Blu by owners Gordy and Cindy Peters of St. There were 12 cars going for the award this year, and they all looked like winners. But it’s the roadsters that make the show what it is, particularly the handful contending for the vaunted title of America’s Most Beautiful Roadster.
The Grand National Roadster Show accommodates roadsters, customs, motorcycles and all manner of vehicles spread across six buildings. This year there were 350 vehicles in all. Whatever it is called, the best builders always bring their best creations to show. The show celebrated its 57th running last month at the Fairplex in Pomona, California, settling in there after nearly half a century in Oakland, so long that everyone still refers to it as the Oakland Roadster Show.
